I love mustelid haberdashery, vinho verde wine, and wensleydale with fruit.
This book is a continuation of the story started in The Strain.
While I think it is very much a middle book, it's not a terribly boring or tedious middle book and kept me very engaged through the entire novel. Things are looking terrible for humanity as a Master vampire is busy taking over the US and making everyone vampiric and horrible.
The Ancient vampire race has more of a presence and I like that there is a lot of broad story telling arcs as well as the personal ones that follow the cast of characters we met in the first book.
Fet still remains my favorite character, and I like how the Ancient ones try to manipulate events.
I really appreciate how the authors create a very complete story regarding the vampires - how they work (crazy ass bloodworm/viruses) and they keep the properties of the "illness", physiology, and history tight.
I'm looking forward to the last book in the series.
